Stay in touch when the mobile network doesn't. When storms knock out phone masts or the network is overloaded, these two-way radios keep your household talking: across the house, the street, or between the car and home. No SIM, no signal, no subscription.

  • Licence-free in the UK: PMR446 version, 8 channels, 0.5W. You can use them straight out of the box.
  • Simple to use: pick a channel, press to talk. Hands-free VOX mode and a channel lock.
  • Runs on AA batteries (3 per radio, not included), so you can keep spares in your kit and never worry about charging during a power cut.
  • Range: from a few hundred metres in built-up areas to a couple of kilometres in open country with clear line of sight. Buildings, trees and hills reduce range.
  • Lightweight (about 90g each) and kid-friendly, so they're great for family camping too.

In the box: 2 radios.

Read our guide: how to stay in touch when mobile networks go down.
